Our Vision for the Future of the Y!

July 24, 2026
Dear YMCA Members,
As construction begins on the transformational expansion and renovation of the Pocono Family YMCA, we want to share an important update regarding member parking.
Beginning July 29, 2026, the current YMCA member parking lot and the former Dunkin’ Donuts parking lot will be closed for construction and will remain unavailable throughout the duration of the project.
New Member Parking Location
To ensure convenient access to the YMCA, we have secured dedicated member parking approximately one block from our facility on Ann Street, in the parking lot located to the left of the Ribbon Factory.
Please refer to the attached map for the parking location and walking route to the YMCA. The lot will be clearly marked for YMCA member parking.
Drop-Off & Accessibility
For your convenience, a drive-through drop-off lane will remain available on the YMCA campus throughout construction. This lane may be used for:
· Childcare drop-off and pick-up
· Members with mobility concerns
· Quick passenger drop-offs
· Program participants requiring close access
If you have questions or need assistance accessing the facility, please don’t hesitate to speak with a member of our staff.
Please Allow a Little Extra Time
Because parking is now a short walk from the YMCA, we encourage members to plan for a few extra minutes when arriving for classes, workouts, swim lessons, childcare, or other programs.
Stay Connected
As construction progresses, there may be occasional changes to parking, entrances, traffic flow, or program locations. We are committed to keeping you informed every step of the way.
The best ways to stay up to date are to:
· Make sure you’re receiving emails from the Pocono Family YMCA.
· Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for regular construction updates and progress photos.
· Watch for signage throughout the building with the latest information and directional guidance.
While signs will be posted throughout the facility, email and social media will always provide the most current information.
Thank You
We understand that parking changes can be inconvenient, and we sincerely appreciate your patience, flexibility, and understanding during this exciting time.
This project represents far more than a building expansion—it is an investment in the health, wellness, and future of our entire community. None of this would be possible without the incredible support of our members, donors, partners, staff, volunteers, and community leaders.
Thank you for being part of this journey as we build the future of the Pocono Family YMCA together. We look forward to welcoming you into your new YMCA at the end of 2027!

After many years of planning, fundraising, and preparation, we’re excited to share that the
Pocono Family YMCA’s renovation and expansion project is entering its final phase before
construction officially begins.
Many of our members have been following this journey for years, and we know the timeline has
changed along the way. We appreciate your patience and support as we’ve worked through the
complex financing and approval process required for a project of this size.
The good news is that we are now very close to the finish line.
Over the past several months, our team has been working closely with lenders, USDA officials,
architects, engineers, attorneys, and construction professionals to complete the final steps
needed to move the project forward. Recently, the USDA approved the project’s construction
contract, and final closing documents are expected to be completed shortly.
In another major milestone, the required utility work at the site has been completed, helping
clear the way for construction activities to begin.
Vericon Construction, our construction manager, has already started procuring materials and is
expected to begin moving equipment on-site in July.
We understand that many members have been eagerly awaiting these improvements. This
project represents a significant investment in the future of the YMCA and will allow us to better
serve children, families, seniors, and the entire community for generations to come.
We remain committed to keeping our members informed throughout the process. We encourage
you to attend our monthly Coffee Chats in the lobby, where YMCA staff provide project updates
and answer questions. We also invite you to join us for upcoming construction kickoff
celebrations, including Color the Countdown on June 27.
Thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and belief in the YMCA’s mission. We
are excited to take this next step together and look forward to sharing more updates as
construction gets underway.
The Pocono Family YMCA has formally advertised a public bid for its upcoming construction and renovation project, in compliance with all applicable public funding and procurement requirements.
The bid was publicly advertised from December 26, 2025, through January 4, 2026. During this period, qualified general contractors were invited to review the project scope and prepare proposals.
Bid submissions are due by January 23, 2026. The project is supported by public funding partners and represents a significant step forward in enhancing the YMCA’s facilities and services for the community.
This initiative underscores the Pocono Family YMCA’s ongoing commitment to transparency, fiscal responsibility, and long-term investment in a safe, modern, and welcoming environment for members and program participants.
The Pocono Family YMCA extends its appreciation to stakeholders and community partners for their continued support as this important project progresses.
