Guest Policy 

Guest passes are for our members’ convenience. We encourage you to share the Y with your friends by bringing them with you. Only Pocono Family YMCA members will be given guest privileges as defined. Guest Pass are an opportunity to give people chance to experience our YMCA for themselves and encourage enrollment.  

Members are allowed ONE Guest Pass per calendar MONTH 

Members may bring Guest to the YMCA under these conditions: 

  • The Guest Passes are provided for each membership UNIT, not individual MEMBER. 
  • Members MUST accompany Guest at ALL TIMES while in the facility. 
  • Guests can be a guest in facilities THREE (3) times before joining or paying a daily fee. 
  •  before having to either purchase a membership or a Day Pass. 
  • Guests MUST Provide a valid government issued ID (STATE, Driver’s License, or school issued) upon arrival at the YMCA. 
  • ALL Guests are subjected to screening in the National Sex Offender Registry, as all who enter the Y are. The Y reserves the right to deny access to anyone who appears on the National Sex Offender registry. 
  • Guests MUST fill out GUEST REGISTRATION FORM if they have not done so. 
  • Guests under 18 will NEED a parent/guardian to come into the Y to sign the guest waiver before their first visit. 
  • All facility guidelines, privileges and restrictions must be observed. 
  • Guests MUST abide by the Members Code of Conduct. Failure to do so will result in being denied access to Y and being escorted off the premises.   

Restrictions for Guest 

  • Guests CAN participate in Group Exercise classes during their visit. 
  • Guests CAN participate in Open Gym, Open Pickleball, Rec Swim, and Lap Swim Times. 
  • Guests CAN use the Fitness Center during Hours of Operation.  
  • Guests CANNOT sign up for programs at membership pricing. 
  • Guests CANNOT come to the facility without MEMBER present. 
  • Guests under the age of 16 CANNOT enter without an ADULT MEMBER present.  
  • Guests CANNOT use Child Watch (Babysitting) Services. Only Active Members have access.  
  • Guests will be DENIED access to the building if they have an inactive membership account with an outstanding balance due. To regain access to the building, the balance must be paid.

What types of payments are accepted?

The Y accepts credit cards, debit cards and bank drafts (from checking or savings) for automatic monthly billing. Payment in full may be paid in cash, check or credit card.

When are monthly dues charged to my account?

Membership will charge corresponding with the day your sign up. You can have automatic withdrawn from credit/debit cards along with Personal Checking/Savings Accounts. Membership charges not set on automatic will charge to membership account. 

What credit/debit cards does the Y accept?

The Y accepts VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover cards.

I haven’t used my membership is over a month. Do I still have to pay my membership?

Yes. Unless you fill out a Hold Form to pause your membership, you are responsible for your bill. Membership billing isn’t based on attendance. 

I was a member in the past.  Do I need to pay the joiner fee again?

Yes, if your membership has lapsed for more than 30 days you are required to repay the appropriate joiner’s fee.

I am a member of the military. Do I get to use the Y for free?

We allow active-duty members of the military who are on leave to use the Y for free for up to 30 days. Active military ID cards are required to access the facility. All other members of the military are required to pay membership dues.

Can I put my membership on hold?

The Pocono Family YMCA allows its members to put their annual membership on hold for a minimum of a month and up to 3 months without medical documentation. Contact [email protected]

Can I cancel my membership over the phone?

The Pocono Family YMCA does not allow members to cancel their memberships over the phone. Members must stop by the Y Front Desk to fill out a membership termination form or may email the Membership Director at [email protected]. Members must give 30 days notice before their billing date to cancel their membership.

I can no longer afford the Y. What should I do?

The Y values you as a member and will do everything we can to help work out a payment situation that fits your needs. Just ask to speak to our Membership Director and explain your situation.

What forms do I need to bring when applying for financial assistance?

People applying for financial assistance need to bring proof of all household income. This may include but is not limited to the most recently filed 1040, SSI awards letter, unemployment statement, etc. Applicants must also provide copies of household expenses. This may include but is not limited to rent/lease agreement, utility bill, phone bill, etc.

Is financial assistance available for childcare and youth programing?

Yes. Financial Assistance isn’t just for membership fees. We can also provide assistance for child care, youth sports, swimming lessons, and other youth activities. Just ask! If you are applying for a child care scholarship, please make sure you apply with and are denied by CCIS before applying for assistance through the Y.

Where do I direct my comments or suggestions?

There are a couple of options for submitting comments, suggestions or concerns. You may email a comment electronically to [email protected] or you may visit our comment box at the Welcome Desk.

The Y is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all members and guests. To promote safety and comfort for everyone, all individuals are asked to act appropriately at all times when in our facility or participating in our programs. We expect people using the Y to act maturely, to behave responsibly, and to respect the rights and dignity of others.

In consideration of all members and to ensure your own safety while at the Y, we ask that you respect our facility regulations:

1.   Children under the age of 12 must be escorted AT ALL TIMES by a responsible adult 18 years or older.

2.   No one under 12 years of age is permitted in the Fitness Center. 12-15 young adults will be permitted to use the fitness center accompanied by an adult 25 years or older or unless they have completed the Teen Strength program. Youth 12-15 years old may use the equipment after successfully completing the Teen Strength Training Program. Their Teen Strength Cards are required to be worn upon entry to the Fitness Center.

3.   The Y is a smoke-free area. Smoking is not permitted on any of the Y premises, including the walkway at our front entrance. 

4.   Members must scan their membership ID’s at the Member Service Desk upon entering the facility. Guests must present ID at the  Member Service   Desk upon entering the facility.

5.   Members and guests should use only the front door when entering or exiting the building. 

6.   Members should keep their belongings locked in a locker. The Pocono Family YMCA is not responsible for items lost or stolen in the building. 

7.   The handicap spaces in the parking lot are for cars with appropriate license plates or placards only.  Members without appropriate credentials displayed on their cars are not permitted to park in these spaces at any time. 

8.   Children age 5 and under may accompany their parent/guardian into the opposite sex locker room with adult supervision. For older children, a family changing room is available across from the pool entrance. 

9.   Locks are not to be left on lockers overnight unless you have paid for a locker rental.  The Y reserves the right to remove any locks left on the lockers overnight. You can purchase a locker rental at Membership Services.

10. Cell phone use in the locker room is prohibited! Please turn off your cell phone when in the locker rooms. 

11. Gym bags are not to be left on the floor in the fitness center. All items found lying on the floors in the fitness center will be removed. 

12. Sexual misconduct and/or harassment are not permitted.

13. Abuse, foul language, and/or fighting are not permitted.

14. Weapons (i.e. firearms and knives) are not permitted.

Failure to comply with the above regulations may result in the termination of your membership privileges.  VIOLATORS WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE!

Our YMCA is a membership organization open to all people. The YMCA welcomes women and men, girls and boys of all ages, races, ethnicities, religions, abilities and financial circumstances. Programs and branches embrace diversity, reflecting the needs and composition of our community.

Financial assistance is available for qualified members through the Financial Assistance program, funded by the Y Annual Campaign and United Way of Monroe County. We are community-based and believe that our programs should be available for everyone.

Please ask for a financial scholarship application at the Member Services Desk. The process is completely confidential. Some limitations apply to the amount of scholarship we are able to provide in programs. Certain minimums are applied to program scholarship awards. Those receiving financial assistance are expected to utilize the assistance and to keep track of programs and classes in which they participate. Failure to utilize the award or track participation will result in revocation or nonrenewal of the award.
